W.E. Lusain

W. Eric Lusain is a proud Birmingham native and a lifelong student of craftsmanship and culture. After graduating from Fisk University and finding success in corporate America, Eric felt a deeper calling: to build, to create, and to leave something meaningful behind.

He went on to establish a chain of funeral homes across Ohio and Alabama, approaching each venture with grit, grace, and quiet elegance. Eric is a fourth-generation tailor. His ancestors opened a Black-owned tailoring shop in downtown Birmingham in 1919. He learned to sew from his mother, threading tradition into every stitch, every seam, every silhouette.

Karli Lusain

Karli Lusain, daughter of W. Eric and Kesha Lusain, is a 2026 graduate of Fisk University and a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. At W.E. Lusain Apparel Company, she serves as Brand Manager, helping oversee product development, brand strategy, and marketing initiatives. With a passion for visual aesthetics and storytelling, Karli enjoys contributing to the growth of the family business while expressing her creativity through graphic design, branding, and custom sweater design. Her dedication to innovation and attention to detail help bring the company's vision to life through timeless, meaningful apparel.
