About Us

W. Eric Lusain is a proud Birmingham native and a lifelong student of craftsmanship and culture. After graduating from Fisk University and finding success in corporate America, Eric felt a deeper calling — to build, to create, and to leave something meaningful behind.

He went on to establish a chain of funeral homes across Ohio and Alabama, approaching each venture with grit, grace, and quiet elegance. Eric is a fourth-generation tailor. His ancestors opened a Black-owned tailoring shop in downtown Birmingham in 1919. He learned to sew from his mother, threading tradition into every stitch, every seam, every silhouette.

The W.E. Lusain brand is a return to those roots. Each garment is designed and hand-sewn in Birmingham, Alabama, using premium chenille patches and vintage textures that evoke pride and nostalgia. While our business model does not include a storefront, every piece is made to order and ships within 10 days — timeless style, delivered with modern care.

Specializing in vintage-style collegiate knits and culturally inspired apparel, W.E. Lusain honors HBCU culture, sports legends, and faith. These aren’t just sweaters. They’re heirlooms in the making. Worn with pride. Built to last. Made to tell a story.
